The exciting, and well named, Giant Expectations won the GII Pat O’Brien Stakes at Del Mar over the weekend. Here’s what Marette, who spotted the young horse at the sales, has to say about the fine victory:
“So thrilled for Ryan Exline, Justin Border and all their team. This is a momentous win. Giant Expectations has always showed talent, but met the likes of Arrogate and co. when trying to break his maiden.
“So exciting that he now gets a chance to run in the Breeders’ Cup mile. What a horse, and what a tremendous group of people who own him – such enthusiasts of the game and real students of form. So well deserved. Peter Eurton is a true blue horseman who always has his horses “ready.” It was a delight to see the horse finally show his talents on the big stage. Watch out – so much more to come from this talented son of Frost Giant.”
