Leigh Court, purchased on the advice of Marette Farrell by Speedway Stables for $1 million at last year’s Fasig-Tipton November sale, made a barn-stormer of a seasonal reappearance to finish an honorable second in the Grade III Royal North Stakes at Woodbine.
Always up with the pace, Leigh Court was only run out of it in the closing stages by the match-fit Ageless, herself a multiple graded-stakes winner. What this fine run proves is that Leigh Court is every bit as good as she was last year. And Speedway Stables, along with trainer Mike Stidham, look set to enjoy a great second half of the year with this versatile mare.
