Speedway Stables’ Debonairly won the Listed Segenhoe Stud Woodlands Stakes last weekend, and this is what Marette said about this great win for an exciting young filly:
“Debonairly is the first horse John Adger and I bought for Speedway Stable in Australia. This beautiful daughter of Snitzel won her first stake race in the Woodlands Stakes at Scone Racetrack. The plan according to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott is to give her a months break and then aim her for the Spring Carnival with a probable step up in trip. I am delighted for Peter and Kc Weiner who have thoroughly enjoyed their association with the ‘Lady Trainer’ Gai.”
And here’s what Gai Waterhouse’s co-trainer Adrian Bott said about the win to ANZ Bloodstock News:
“Co-trainer Adrian Bott said the Speedway Stables-owned filly would be given a short break and bought back for the early spring races. “We were really impressed with her victory today,” Bott said. “She is a high class filly we have always thought a lot of her so it was good to see her put it all together today. She has always showed promise but has done a few things wrong previously. She did hang out a bit late in the piece but there were far more positives from this race.”
