Marette has purchased another exciting young filly for Speedway Stable’s Australian division. Here’s what Marette has to say about it:
“We bought another exciting filly for Speedway Stable at the very last Inglis sale to be held in the city of Sidney. She is a knockout. I wrote “rocket” across my page! This strapping filly is by Exceed and Excel who is a really good stallion in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. Her mother is by Encosta de Lago and he is one of the top broodmare sires in Australia. Exceed and Excel has had 4 stake winners with Encosta de Lago mares. In fact Exceed and Excel has had 128 stake winners, 10 of which are G1 winners. One of these was called Overreach who won the Golden Slipper for our trainer Gai Waterhouse. It would be one of my most treasured feats if this filly could replicate that.
As you can see in the 2nd dam, many sisters have produced group/stake horses. In fact Master of Arts by Danehill Dancer ( by Danehill like Exceed and Excel) has since won a G3 and been placed 3rd in a G2. He is trained by another great trainer in Darren Weir. In the 3rd dam Gold Onyx won a G1 in South Africa and has just retired. It is a young international family with lots happening.”
