In the latest TDN Weekend Magazine, there’s a fascinating piece on the Speedway Stables guys. Here’s a highlight:
“I said, ‘If we wanted to buy a few horses, what should
the strategic plan be? What’s the best way of going about
it?’” Fluor recounted. “John said, ‘You ought to look at
ready-made horses and 2-year-olds in training if you just
want to have some fun. But you need somebody to help
you with that.’”
And here’s what Marette (one of those who help with their success) says:
“K.C. and Peter are two of the best. As for Collected, he’s been retired to Airdrie Stud, and his book is full already. We’re also looking forward to seeing the return of Moon Dash. As for the broodmares, can’t wait for Leigh Court’s Uncle Mo foal, Shayjolie’s Candy Ride, and Jemofthenile’s Union Rag’s foal. Exciting times indeed for Speedway Stables!”
